All paths lead to Web
The World Wide Web is important in social and economic development through the dissemination of information, culture, and generating new business in the country. One of the most important events in the area, the Conference Web.br debates issues that impact society and contribute to the awareness of the importance of ongoing continued development.
The event is an initiative of the W3C Brazil office and the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br).Its first edition was in 2009 and since then the conference happens annually, in São Paulo, and it has place in the agenda of the Web’s stakeholders.
The themes chosen for the 2013 conference will discuss the Trends Topics of the Web and each subject will have a highlight speaker to debate and exchange experience with the participants
Target Audience: Web developers, main users, startups, researchers and policy makers on business strategies.
Kris is a Chicago native and the Executive Director of the jQuery Foundation where he works to help the foundation realize its mission to make the web a better place for everyone.
He is also a member of the jQuery UI team working on everything from fixing bugs to new development.
jQuery team member, former IBMer Lead Software Engineer (Linux Tech Center). B.S in Computer Science at USP (Brazil).
Fernanda Weiden works with large scale infrastructure, currently in the Production Engineering team at Facebook. Previously, Fernanda worked at Google and IBM.
Her involvement in the Free Software community began in 2002, she's been an organizer of FISL (the International Free Software Forum) for several years and she's been vice-president of the FSFE from 2009 until 2011, being responsible for organizing the Document Freedom Day.

Alex Soares is Solutions Engineer with almost 20 years of internet experience and currently consulting in web performance.
He's been workin at Exceda for the last 6 years, where he coordinates projects in some of the largest media groups and webportals in Latin America and USA.
Before working at Exceda, he gained experience developing websites, infrastructure and streaming solutions.

He's also responsible for the free availability of the Legal Brazilian Time via NTP, for the realization of studies about the Web, for Zappiens.br, a web portal for high quality video in portuguese, and for training internet service providers.
Knight International Journalism Fellow Gustavo Faleiros is an environmental journalist and media trainer who specializes in data-driven journalism.
During his first Knight International Journalism Fellowship last year, Faleiros launched InfoAmazonia, a digital map that uses satellite and other publicly available data to monitor the Amazon rainforest.
Before his fellowship, Faleiros helped create the Amazon Communications Network, which trained journalists and produced 200 stories about environmental issues in the region.
Is Master's student in Computer Science and works as coordination assistant of educational projects at MStech, working mainly with educational games and projects of digital accessibility.

José also has technical and practical knowledge on digital book production in the mobi and ePub formats and enhanced books for the iPad. In 2010, he founded Simplíssimo Livros where he currently works as Operations Director and where he's the responsible technician for production.
Graduated in Computer Science, Loiane Groner works as Project Development Manager at Citibank (the largest financial institution in the world), in São Paulo. She has more that 8 years of IT experience.
Loiane has authored the books Ext JS 4 First Look, Mastering Ext JS and Sencha Architect App Development, all of which where published by Packt Publishing being globaly available in english. She's also Java evangelist and Sencha Community Leader in Brazil.

Os Web Components irão mudar o modo de construir apps web em um futuro muito próximo. Em sua essência, o padrão permite que os desenvolvedores criem tags HTML reutilizáveis (ex: O Polymer, projeto Open Source da Google, é um novo tipo de biblioteca para a web, que tem como alvo a plataforma web moderna, útil para a construção de aplicações web baseadas em Web Components. Ao contrário de alguns outros frameworks anteriores, O Polymer tenta abraçar o HTML, tanto quanto possível, incentivando a utilização de elemento customizados, sempre que possível. Ele inclui um punhado de polyfills independentes para esses padrões web emergentes (Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, etc.), que ao longo do tempo, diminuirá e finalmente desaparecerá conforme os navegadores forem implementando as APIs nativas. The W3C is an international consortium aimed at promoting the realization of the Web's full potential, by creating standards and guidelines to ensure its constant development. Over 80 standards have already been published, among which there are the HTML, the XML, the XHTML and the CSS.
The W3C in Brazil supports global goals for a Web for all, from any device, based on knowledge, security and responsibility. In order to achieve that, it promotes lectures in universities, public and private sector entities; it also promotes the translation into Portuguese of the main documents produced by the W3C international and maintains an open forum for discussions on the use of web standards and promoting initiatives such as Mobile Web, Semantic Web, e-Government, Web Accessibility and others.
